Artist's Description
My Grandmother, Elsie, grew beautiful poppy gardens as far as the eye could see. Her sweet little Irish home was painted white with a red trim around the windows. All around her home she grew flowers and trees of most every type. She kept chickens in a hen house behind this beautiful poppy field, that in other seasons was planted as a vegetable garden. My Grandfather, Doc, died very young at the age of 47; so my grandmother purchased this little house and lived out her life (90 years) surrounded by the beautiful gardens that took up so much of her time. She worked in the packing sheds; she was a seamstress;
she canned fruits and vegetables; made quilts; grew gardens; cleaned her yard and home by herself; and was the most beautiful spirit of a woman that I have ever known. She loved her family and everyone loved her. Sometimes, when I look at this painting, I see her spirit shining in the sky.

About Jan Moore
Welcome to my world of art, the things I've seen and the places I've experienced. I am an artist, living on the central coast of California, who enjoys painting and photography. I retired from California State University, Bakersfield, in 2001, after 27 years of service. My husband and I began traveling in 2003, and I began my career in the arts on November 1, 2010. I have spent the last few years developing my style; taking workshops under a few outstanding plein air artists; and continuing to visualize great scenes for painting. My husband, two daughters and four grandchildren will be the focus of my life until the day I die. By this focus and the grace of God, I hope to master the arts in my lifetime. I hope to inspire all ages...
